STRABANE Academy was a sea of pink as pupils and staff joined together to celebrate the school’s annual Think Pink Day in aid of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.

The event was organised by Mrs Crosbie’s Year 11 King’s Trust classes.

Featuring an array of fun activities, including the popular ‘Sponge the Teacher’, the annual event raised over £1,280.

Reflecting on the success of the day, a school spokesperson said: “What a fantastic day we have had celebrating our annual Think Pink Day.

“As always, our incredible Year 11 King's Trust pupils, alongside Mrs Dunn, Miss Forbes, Mrs Walters and Miss Donnelly, outdid themselves in organising a day packed full of colour, laughter, games and plenty of fun.

“From start to finish, there was a real buzz around the school as everyone got behind such a worthwhile cause.

“Lunchtime was particularly busy, with a range of activities on offer, but the undeniable highlight had to be ‘Sponge the Teacher’!

“A huge thank you to Mr Pollock, Mr McIvor, Mr Bratton, Mrs Creane and Mr Allen for being such good sports and stepping up to the challenge.

“Needless to say, there were plenty of wet sponges and even more smiling faces.

“We are delighted to announce that, at this moment, we have raised an incredible £1,281.80 and counting.

“A massive thank you to everyone who donated, took part, volunteered, and supported the day.

“Your generosity and enthusiasm have made Think Pink 2026 another huge success, and we couldn't be prouder of our school community.”
