The Mayor is encouraging shoppers to visit the 2026 Guildhall Craft Fair to discover unique gifts from local artisans and makers.

MAYOR of Derry and Strabane, councillor Grace Uí Niallais, is inviting shoppers to get into the festive spirit and support local makers as preparations get underway for the 2026 Guildhall Craft Fair.

The popular three-day event takes place from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15 and will showcase talented designer-makers, artists and artisan food producers from across Ireland in the beautiful surroundings of the historic Guildhall.

Recognised as one of the country’s leading showcases of handmade craft and design, the Craft Fair offers visitors the opportunity to browse an exceptional selection of original products and find something truly unique for Christmas.

From ceramics, jewellery and textiles to woodwork, glass, leather and contemporary design, the event celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship of makers across the island.

Visitors can also enjoy the Artisan Food Fair in the Whittaker Suite, featuring a tempting selection of locally produced food and treats.

Speaking ahead of the opening, Mayor Uí Niallais said she was looking forward to welcoming visitors to the Guildhall.

“The Guildhall Craft Fair is a wonderful celebration of the creativity and talent we have across Ireland and it’s fantastic to see so many gifted makers coming together in our historic Guildhall,” she said.

“With Christmas just around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity to find something a little different for your loved ones, with beautiful handmade gifts that have been created with real care, skill and imagination.

“I would encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the atmosphere and make a special effort to support our local and regional makers and small businesses.

“Every purchase makes a difference and helps support the talented people behind these wonderful products.”

The Craft Fair will also feature a programme of choral performances, adding to the festive atmosphere throughout the weekend.

The event marks the beginning of Council’s wider ‘Christmas Starts Here’ programme, with a packed schedule of festive activities and entertainment planned across the City and District in the weeks ahead.

Opening times:

Friday, November 13: 12 to 8pm

Saturday, November 14: 10am to 6pm
