Residents are being invited to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and rediscover Castlederg Town Centre as it was during the 1970s.

RESIDENTS are being invited to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and rediscover Castlederg Town Centre as it was during the 1970s.

Churchtown Community Association is hosting a special history talk with local historian Gordon Speer on Thursday, November 5, at 7pm in Killeter Heritage Centre.

The evening promises to bring the town’s past to life, exploring the shops, businesses, familiar faces and changes that have shaped Castlederg over the decades.

Those who remember the town during the 1970s will have an opportunity to reminisce about days gone by, share their own memories and reflect on how the town centre has evolved over the years.

The talk will also appeal to anyone interested in local history and discovering more about the people, places and businesses that helped shape the community.

Organisers hope the event will provide an enjoyable and informative evening, bringing together generations through shared memories and a renewed appreciation of Castlederg’s heritage.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which Derry City and Strabane District Council has funded.
