Mayor Uí Niallais praised Easilink for its work in helping older people remain connected to their communities and access vital services during a visit to the organisation's new premises in Strabane.
THE Mayor of Derry and Strabane, councillor Grace Uí Niallais, got together with some of the service users and staff at Easilink in Strabane to mark Positive Ageing Month.
A special welcome event was hosted at Easilink’s new premises at Bowling Green, where service users had the chance to come together to connect, share experiences, and build new friendships.
They also met with some of the call handlers who work with the local community on a regular basis, to enjoy a chat and a cup of tea.
Mayor Uí Niallais said it was a great opportunity to strengthen the organisation’s ties within the local community.
“It was a pleasure to join service users, staff and volunteers at Easlink to mark Positive Ageing Month and celebrate the invaluable work they do across our district,” she said.

“Easlink provides so much more than a transport service.
“It helps older people remain connected to their communities, access vital services, and maintain their independence and wellbeing.
“During Positive Ageing Month, it is particularly important that we acknowledge organisations like Easlink that help tackle social isolation and support older people to stay active and engaged.
“I would like to thank the dedicated staff, drivers and volunteers involved for their commitment and wish Easilink continued success in the future.”
