Strabane Athletic edged out by Ballinamallard
Marc Walsh nets only goal of the game.
STRABANE Athletic were defeated by Ballinamallard United at the Limavady Showgrounds on Friday night.
Marc Walsh grabbed the only goal of the game as The Mallards returned to Fermanagh with maximum points.
After a scoreless first half the visitors broke the deadlock ten minutes into the second period when Walsh capitalised on a quick free-kick from Ryan Mayse to find the net.
The goal proved enough to separate the sides at the end although Strabane did come close to bagging a stoppage time equaliser with an effort against an upright.
Next up for Athletic is a trip to Iveagh Park to face Rathfriland Rangers on Friday evening. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
The north Tyrone men are back under the lights at ‘home’ on Friday, November 6 when they entertain leaders, Annagh United.
