STRABANE Athletic had to settle for a point on the road after a dramatic 2-2 draw against Rathfriland at Iveagh Park on Friday evening.
The visitors found themselves trailing 1-0 at the interval following a 27th minute strike by Reece Doyle but produced an impressive response after the break, with McGlynn scoring twice in the space of just four minutes to put Strabane in front.
His first goal arrived in the 50th minute when he converted from the penalty spot before he struck again in the 54th minute, completing a quick-fire double.
Rathfriland found a late equaliser when Doyle netted his second in the fourth minute of stoppage time to deny Tommy Canning’s men all three points and ensure the sides shared the spoils.
The result, a fifth draw of the season, means Strabane sit second bottom on 11 points - two ahead of bottom placed Armagh City.
